The EsoWave sequencer is a project for the Jazzmutant Lemur, by Rick Hawkins. It is a esoteric/generative midi sequencer that sends midi notes according to the positions of 32 nodes in a 2D plane. The nodes are connected along an elastic string and can be additionally controlled by two waveforms that drive the X and Y coordinates. Available from the JazzMutant user area.
Recently presented at TEI (conference on tangible, embedded, and embodied interaction at MIT MediaLab), these Flexiknobs look lovely. Meant for audio/visual editing, they function like a standard mouse, only with a rotary knob in place of a scroll wheel.
Ableton posted this interview/tutorial with Ski Beatz on how he uses Ableton Live to make beats. A much welcomed perspective for those producers who may be approaching Live as an MPC user. His style of using warp markers to slice up beats is refreshing in that he makes the technology work for him and his methods.

The Movement Systems Drum Computer (MKI), or MCS Percussion Computer (MKII) was manufactured in England in 1981 and again in 1983. It retailed around £2000. Most famous for its appearance in the “Sweet Dreams are Made of This” video and also used on the record.
